Anita Krajnc is now in court facing charges for giving thirsty pigs water (#PigTrial). Toronto Pig Save and The Save Movement’s mission is to promote the duty of everyone to bear witness. Bearing witness has a dual purpose: we are present firsthand for the animal victims going to slaughterhouses but we are also using photos and video documentation and social media to draw world attention to the plight of all animals, an environment in distress and harm to people’s health and conscience caused by animal exploitation. We must never avoid or turn away from the truth. By bearing witness to animals in need, we discover the unity of life, and the wisdom of Tolstoy’s teachings, which tell us that when people “wish to harm others, they really do evil to themselves.”
