Alister has been a vegan now since 4 years and was vegetarian for 3 years before that. It all started after reading a series of articles about factory farming. He was so shocked to learn that so many animals were (and still are) being treated like nothing more than parts on a production line, with little regard for their well being. Around the same time, He entered his first trail running race at Mont Sutton and instantly fell in love with the sport. Within a year, he had begun taking running seriously; training regularly, paying attention to his diet and competing in many of the local races (both road and trail) Since then, he has competed in races across Canada, the US and Europe. He has represented Canada in the US Mountain Running championships and received sponsorship from major brands such as Salomon. He is also a trail running coach and currently working on a college diploma in nutrition. Last year, He acheived a long term goal competed in one of the most famous ultramarathons in the world, the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc. A 170 km mountain race across three countries with almost 10,000 metre in total vertical ascent.
