Marie-Michelle made her vegan transition in 2013. With so much love for food, it was certainly not her new diet that would stop her from delighting herself. After adapting and learning different techniques, she published an eBook ‘Basilic & Chocolat’ in 2015, focused on comforting and classic vegan recipes.
In the summer of 2016, she enters the kitchen as a vegan chef. Self-taught and professional taster, she creates a different menu every day. It is also at this moment that she discovers her passion for making cakes.
Listening to her passions, she launched Mousse Meringue in the fall of 2016. From her personal kitchen, she imagined the most colorful and unique cakes. It was during Christmas that Mousse Meringue got its momentum with the sale of Christmas “logs”.
In March 2017, she published two recipes of vegan cheesecakes in the Montreal magazine ‘Véganes Magazine’. Soon after, three pages were devoted to her in the magazine Thrive – the number one vegan magazine in the United States.
A few weeks later, Marie-Michelle and her husband find out that they were going to be parents the following January. The orders for cakes continued with the goal of stopping in December, before the arrival of the baby.
In November, pregnant for nearly 7 months, Marie-Michelle hosts a culinary demonstration at the Montreal Vegan Festival.
The baby showed up beginning of January and the family was filled with the perfect happiness.
In the spring of 2018, a Quebecois show, ‘L’épicerie’, presents a segment on vegan desserts including Marie-Michelle who shared tips for substituting ingredients of animal origin, as well as recipes for lemon meringue pie and chocolate mousse.
With the baby having grown a little, she finally manages to find time for her passion – to cook. As a stay home mom, she decides to start a blog in the fall. Her goal? Create comforting and simple vegan recipes, that didn’t fall into the vegan cliche. She thinks that if she succeeds in doing so, it will motivate other families, other moms and lots of other people to get into vegan food.
