My name is Thao Bui. I’m a nutritionist and a member of the Professional Order of Dietitians of Quebec since 2012.
I have been working at CHU Sainte-Justine since 2012, where I was able to develop expertise with a clientele that I’m passionate about: infants, children, and pregnant women.
Along with my work as a clinical nutritionist in Sainte-Justine, I offer consultations and conference services to women and all those who want to adopt a more plant-focused diet under the name of “La végé d’à côté”.
“La végé d’à côté” is a blog that I launched following a vegan shift in 2015. “La végé d’à côté” is focused on my story of discovering veganism and sharing this way of life.
After cutting meat and poultry for several years, I gradually made the transition to vegetarianism and finally to veganism. This change was made mainly for animal ethics.
Since a vegetarian or vegan diet is often considered marginal and even sometimes dangerous, I work to demystify vegan- and vegetarianism to health professionals as well as the general public.
